Neocate Changes
We would like to inform you of some upcoming changes to Neocate LCP that will take effect over the coming months and will create cost savings for the NHS. Please be assured that this is not a discontinuation of Neocate LCP.
Here’s an overview of what’s changing
- The Neocate LCP 400g tin will transition to a 420g format with a new PIP code starting in December 2025. From 1st January 2026, only the 420g tin will be reimbursed.
- The product will feature a new design and a purple lid, with a lid sticker to support patient information.
- There will be no changes to the price, providing 5% more product for the same tin price.
- Clinical indications, dietary suitability, scoop weights, preparation instructions, and standard concentration remain unchanged.
- Neocate LCP continues to be Halal, Kosher, Vegetarian, and is manufactured in Nutricia’s milk-free factory in Liverpool, UK.
Action required
- Your local area will likely have patients using Neocate LCP; their prescriptions will need to be updated to the new 420g format. Please update all prescriptions by 1st January 2026 to ensure ongoing reimbursement.
- We are here to support you and your patients throughout this change and can assist with EMIS Web and Systm1 searches. Please reply if you require assistance or further information.
- We would appreciate it if you could share this information with your colleagues and local surgeries to help ensure appropriate system and patient management.
- Please update required formularies to reflect these changes.
- We would be grateful if you could confirm receipt of this email and advise how best we can support you during this transition.
We appreciate your ongoing support and are committed to making this process as smooth as possible for you and your patients. Thank you for everything you do for your patients and the wider team during this transition. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
